The SART Clinic of Northwest Ohio’s mission is to provide a consistent, competent and caring response to survivors of sexual or domestic violence assaults. Our team is comprised of healthcare providers, victim advocates, law enforcement agencies and prosecuting attorneys. Survivors decide if they wish to work with all of the members of the SART clinic or only a portion, but our multidisciplinary team provides an overall therapeutic approach to a survivor’s journey of recovery.
One of the first point of contacts with the SART clinic is a victim advocate who serves as a personal liaison for the survivor. They are a support person who can provide valuable resources and referrals throughout the entire recovery process for the survivor. They can also provide beneficial insight with court proceedings if the survivor chooses to file charges. The SART Clinic of Northwest Ohio’s highly-trained, detail-oriented and patient-focused forensic nurses take pride in making survivors of assault feel comfortable, in control, encouraged, and empowered. Our nurses readily take care of individuals of all ages and genders and will skillfully assess and individualize the treatment and plan of care for each survivor by putting their needs first and foremost. They aim to make sure every survivor feels hope, respected, and cared for, during their time at our facility.

Many people consider their animals to be family and are unwilling to leave violent situations because they cannot take their animals with them. The mission of this program is to provide safety and security to pets of those who have experienced violence.
Paws Project works with the House of Ruth Domestic Violence Shelter and multiple animal housing facilities. Paws Project uses a multidisciplinary approach to anticipate and respond to issues of domestic violence when families have animals. This can include providing housing for the family and animal, providing emergency medial care to the animal, or providing examinations and investigations when animal abuse or neglect is suspected. Paws Project can care for all animals including livestock and exotic animals.
